Description
Turn baby's tiny hand or foot into a 3D keepsake. Make a mould, cast it, paint it gold or silver if you like, and display it in a white shadowbox frame with two photos.
What's in the box
- 1 white wooden shadowbox frame with glass
- Alginate powder (for the mould) and casting powder
- 4 plastic mixing cups
- Gold and silver paint, plus glue
- Reversible grey and white background board
- Acid-free bevelled mat
- Easel and sawtooth hanger
How it works
- Make the mould: mix the alginate powder with water until it turns pink/purple. Hold baby's hand or foot in it for 1 to 2 minutes, then wiggle gently to release.
- Cast it: mix the casting powder with water until creamy, pour it into the mould, and leave for 10 hours.
- Finish it: cut the cast free with scissors and let it dry for 2 more days. Paint it or leave it white.
- Frame it: glue the cast onto the background and add two photos.
Allow about 3 days in total.
